Lion Park & Jeep Safari – Animals, Off-Road Fun and the Green Canyon Lake

Families often struggle to choose between a day with animals and a day of off-road fun. This trip solves the problem by doing both: it begins with a roar at the Lion Park near Manavgat and ends, a few hours later, with the whole group dancing in foam beside the Green Canyon lake. Entrance, jeep ride, boat trip and lunch are all covered by one price.

A morning with the lions

Pickup is at about 08:00, by bus or jeep depending on where you stay. At the park the keepers walk you past the lion families and introduce the other residents – bears, monkeys, raccoons and deer among them. If you want a picture with a lion cub, the park offers one for about €10 on site; it is entirely optional.

Jeeps, water and a lakeside lunch

Late in the morning the group swaps to safari jeeps and heads up into the hills around the Green Canyon, stopping for views along the way. Expect to get wet: water fights between the vehicles are part of the tradition, so keep phones in a waterproof bag. Around 12:30 you reach the emerald lake, where lunch of chicken, pasta, rice and salads is served and there is time for a swim, followed by a short boat ride on the lake.

Foam to finish

Before the drive back the crew turns up the music and fills the area with foam. Children usually dive straight in; anyone who prefers a quieter end to the day can sit it out in the shade. You leave at about 15:30 and are back at your hotel between 16:30 and 17:00.

Prices and tips

Adults pay €33, children aged 3–11 €20 and under-3s nothing. Drinks are sold at the restaurant and are not included. Bring swimwear, a towel, comfortable shoes, sun protection and some cash. The order of the stops may change with the park’s timetable.
