Green Canyon Cabrio Safari – Open-Top Bus, Lake Boat Trip and Manavgat Waterfall

The gentle way into the Green Canyon: an open-top bus with music instead of a bumpy jeep, stops at a Roman aqueduct, a Yörük village and fruit orchards, a picnic-style lunch by the lake, a boat ride with a swim and the Manavgat Waterfall on the way home.

Green Canyon

Not everyone wants to be thrown about in the back of a 4×4. The cabrio safari takes the same mountain scenery behind Manavgat and serves it up in an open-top bus: smooth seats, the sky overhead, music on board and plenty of laughter when the water pistols come out. It is also the most budget-friendly way to see the Green Canyon.

Aqueduct, nomads and orange groves

After pickup you change to the cabrio bus and head inland. The first stop is the line of arches left by the Roman aqueduct, then a village of the Yörük, the region’s traditionally nomadic herders, and orchards heavy with oranges and pomegranates, where you hear how the valley earns its living from fruit. Before lunch there is a viewpoint high above the lake – on a clear day the Green Canyon and the Mediterranean fit into the same photo – and an optional visit to a small zoo, whose entrance is paid on site.

Picnic lunch and the lake

Lunch is served at a relaxed, picnic-style restaurant on the shore of the emerald lake. Then you board a boat for a trip across the reservoir, with time to jump into the clear water. On some days canoes or pedal boats can be used too, depending on availability.

Last stop: Manavgat Waterfall

On the way back the bus pulls in at the Manavgat Waterfall, where the river spreads over a broad rock ledge in a shady park. Entry to the park is paid on site. You reach your hotel at about 17:00, depending on the area.

Prices and what to pack

Adults pay €26, children aged 3–11 €15 and under-3s nothing; lunch, the boat trip, the guide and the village and orchard stops are included. Drinks, photos and the zoo and waterfall tickets are extra. Bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection and a waterproof bag for your phone. The order of the stops can change with traffic and weather. Craving more adrenaline? Book the Green Canyon by jeep; for a lazy day on calm water, the Manavgat river cruise is perfect.

Frequently asked questions

How is a cabrio safari different from a jeep safari?

You ride in an open-top bus rather than a 4x4, so the trip is smoother, the views are wider and there is music on board – a good choice for families and anyone who prefers an easy day.

Will there be time to swim?

Yes – during the boat trip and at the lakeside after lunch. Pack swimwear and a towel.

What do I pay on the day?

Only drinks, photos and the small entrance fees for the zoo and the Manavgat Waterfall. Lunch, the boat and the village and orchard stops are covered.

Do children enjoy it?

Very much – the open bus and the water fights are usually their favourite part. Ages 3–11 pay €15; under-3s are free.
